On Sunday, Vice‑President C.P. Radhakrishnan spoke at the centenary festivities of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, praising the saint as an outstanding envoy of peace, love and self‑less service.
He highlighted that Baba’s universal messages—“Love All, Serve All” and “Help Ever, Hurt Never”—continue to move millions worldwide.
Radhakrishnan noted how the saint devoted his life to lifting people beyond caste, religion and national lines, exemplifying truth, righteousness, peace, love and non‑violence.
The Vice‑President added that in today’s volatile world, Baba’s call to turn discord into harmony and selfishness into sacrifice is more urgent than ever.
He also lauded Baba’s pivotal role in reviving the Telugu Ganga canal, which now reliably supplies drinking water to Chennai—a feat deeply appreciated by the people of Tamil Nadu.
The Vice‑President commended the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust for its transformative work in healthcare, education and social welfare, including free, values‑based schools, rural health initiatives and extensive humanitarian outreach.
The event drew several key leaders: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Tripura Governor N. Indra Sena Reddy, along with members of the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation and the Central Trust.
During the celebrations, the Vice‑President also witnessed a cultural showcase performed by students.
Earlier that week, he attended the 44th convocation of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL).
Addressing the freshly graduated class, he recalled Sathya Sai Baba’s dream of an education system rooted in service, praising the institute’s commitment to character development, wisdom, and interfaith respect.
Radhakrishnan spoke of India’s momentous potential, positioning the nation as a future global hub of innovation and a model for sustainable development.
He urged the graduates to master emerging technologies—such as AI, Big Data, Blockchain and Machine Learning—and to contribute meaningfully to the vision of a prosperous, evolved India.
