Bomb Threats Grip Delhi: From Courts to Schools, City on Edge
Delhi has been facing a wave of scary bomb threats in recent months, hitting everything from courts and schools to hospitals and government buildings. These emails have left residents panicked and security teams working round the clock to keep everyone safe.
Just last Friday, things turned chaotic at the Delhi High Court. An email claimed three bombs were planted in the complex, including one in a judge’s chamber, and even threatened to "explode" the whole place. The message also mentioned links to Pakistan’s ISI and warned of acid attacks on political leaders. Delhi Police acted fast—they evacuated the entire area and sent in bomb detection squads. The cyber cell jumped into action to track down where the email came from. Luckily, no bombs were found, but the scare disrupted court proceedings big time.
This wasn’t an isolated incident. A few days earlier, on September 9, the Delhi Chief Minister’s Secretariat and Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) got similar bomb threat emails. They warned of blasts at exact times, leading to full evacuations and thorough searches by security teams. Once again, everything checked out as a hoax—no real danger.
The threats keep coming. Back in August, over two dozen colleges, like Jesus and Mary College, and more than 100 schools received these alarming emails. On August 21, six schools in Dwarka and Prasad Nagar had to send students and staff home early after bomb scares. Just three days before, on August 18, Delhi Public School in Dwarka faced the same issue and got fully evacuated.
It goes further back too. On July 18, five schools in Dwarka were targeted with email threats. The days before, on July 16 and 17, multiple schools and colleges across the city got hit. Parents, students, and school officials are understandably on high alert—these repeated Delhi bomb threats have everyone worried, even though they’ve all turned out to be fake so far.
Investigators believe the people behind these hoax bomb threats are using VPNs to hide their locations, which makes catching them tougher. Delhi Police are teaming up with the Special Cell, cyber-crime experts, and the Disaster Management Authority to handle each alert quickly and effectively. Officials stress they’re treating every threat seriously, no matter how fake it seems.
Security agencies are now ramping up their efforts to trace these emails and stop the culprits spreading panic in the national capital. If you’re in Delhi, stay calm but report any suspicious activity—authorities are on it to ensure everyone’s safety.
