Pralhad Joshi Slams Rahul Gandhi Over Foreign Trips and Bihar Silence
In a sharp exchange of words from Karnataka’s Dharwad, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi took a strong dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday. Joshi called out Gandhi for what he described as "nonsense" remarks and questioned his frequent foreign trips without proper security notifications.
Speaking to reporters, Joshi didn’t hold back. "I don’t want to react much because he just speaks nonsense," he said. He pointed to Gandhi’s recent Bihar visit, where he made several allegations that, according to Joshi, no one took seriously. "Then he vanishes abroad again. Nobody knows where he goes or why he travels so often without informing security agencies," Joshi added. Despite this, he noted that the government still provides tight security to Gandhi as the Leader of Opposition (LoP), but questioned the logic of expecting protection without following protocols.
Joshi also mocked Gandhi’s response—or lack of it—to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s bold move in Bihar. "Tejashwi declares himself the chief ministerial candidate right in front of him, and Rahul keeps quiet. He just watches. What can I say about such a helpless man?" Joshi quipped, highlighting the internal dynamics in Bihar politics.
This comes a day after Rahul Gandhi fired back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his upcoming visit to violence-hit Manipur. In Gujarat, while talking to the media, Gandhi welcomed the PM’s trip but shifted focus to what he sees as a bigger national issue: electoral malpractice, which he repeatedly called "Vote Chori" (vote theft).
"It’s good that the PM is finally going to Manipur after so long," Gandhi said. "But the real problem across India is Vote Chori. Election mandates in Haryana and Maharashtra were stolen. People everywhere are chanting ‘Vote Chor’ for the Prime Minister." Gandhi’s comments underscore ongoing tensions around election integrity and the Manipur crisis, keeping the political spotlight on these hot-button topics.
The back-and-forth between BJP’s Joshi and Congress’s Gandhi highlights the growing rivalry ahead of key state elections, with both sides accusing each other of ignoring core issues.
