BJP MP Manoj Tiwari has strongly condemned the Congress party for sharing an AI-generated video that mocks Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother, Heeraben Modi. The video, posted by the Bihar unit of the Indian National Congress on X (formerly Twitter) on September 10, shows fictional characters resembling Modi dreaming of his mother criticizing his politics. It quickly went viral and sparked widespread outrage.
Talking to , Tiwari didn’t hold back. “Congress has no respect for ethics or morals,” he said. “They keep crossing every line of decency. The law will take its course, but the real judge is the public—and people will make them pay for this.”
In a swift response, police in Delhi filed an FIR against Congress leaders for spreading the controversial AI video. The complaint came from Sanket Gupta, convenor of the BJP’s Delhi Election Cell. It accuses them of defaming PM Modi and insulting his mother’s dignity, violating women’s respect and several laws under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Key sections mentioned include 18(2), 336(3), 336(4), 340(2), 352, 356(2), and 61(2). This isn’t just a legal issue—it’s seen as a major breach of ethics and a direct attack on family honor.
This isn’t the first time Congress has faced heat over such incidents in Bihar. Just days earlier, during a Congress-led Voter Adhikar Yatra in Darbhanga, an unidentified person jumped on stage and hurled abuses at PM Modi and his mother. The BJP hit back hard at opposition parties like Congress and RJD, targeting leaders Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav for allowing such behavior.
PM Modi himself addressed the controversy at a recent event, calling out RJD and Congress. “A mother is our world, our self-respect,” he said emotionally. “I never imagined this would happen in Bihar, a land of rich traditions. They abused my mother—who lived to 100 and stayed out of politics—through RJD and Congress. This isn’t just an insult to her; it’s an attack on every mother, sister, and daughter in India.”
The row highlights growing tensions between BJP and opposition parties ahead of elections, with accusations flying over personal attacks and AI misuse in politics. As the FIR proceeds, many are watching to see how the public and courts respond to this bold Congress move.
