A man in a ski mask confronted an off‑duty NYPD officer on Metropolitan Avenue near Leonard Street in Williamsburg at about 2:20 a.m. on Thursday. He brandished a knife, took the cop’s keys, wallet and phone, then fled. The officer was unharmed, and the attacker, who was dressed in all black, was not taken into custody hours later.
