Support parties that give tickets to Kshatriyas: Ex-BJP MP RK Singh’s remark sparks fresh row

Patna, India – Former Union Minister and BJP MP R.K. Singh is calling on the Kshatriya community to unite their votes in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. He argues that the group’s votes are too scattered across parties, leaving them underrepresented – including in his own BJP.
Speaking at the launch of the Kshatriya Kalyan Sangathan Bihar office on Tuesday, Singh didn’t hold back. He pointed out how other communities, like Yadavs, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Kushwahas, vote as strong blocks to gain power. “Ram Vilas Paswan united the Paswan community. Lalu Prasad Yadav united the Yadavs. Kushwahas vote together, not as individuals,” Singh said. He urged Kshatriyas to do the same: back only the parties that offer them the most tickets, even if it’s the opposition Mahagathbandhan alliance.
Singh didn’t spare his own party from criticism. He called out the BJP for sidelining Kshatriyas and Rajputs, saying bluntly, “We have no value in any party.” The MP, who lost his Ara seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, added sarcastically that there’s not a single Rajput visible on the BJP stage these days. “I have no shame in speaking out against my own party,” he declared, warning all parties against ignoring or trampling on Kshatriya interests. “We will show you what power is. We will teach you a lesson in this very Bihar Assembly election.”
His comments come amid growing tensions within the BJP’s Bihar unit. Just a day earlier, Singh lashed out at state leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and BJP state chief Dilip Jaiswal. Responding to corruption allegations from Jan Suraaj party founder Prashant Kishor against Bihar BJP’s top brass, Singh demanded they “come clean” on the charges or step down. This latest outburst has sparked buzz in political circles, highlighting Singh’s frustration over feeling pushed aside.
As Bihar gears up for the assembly polls, Singh’s push for Kshatriya unity could shake up vote strategies and force parties to rethink their ticket distribution.
