In Abu Dhabi, UAE, on September 30, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, hosted a key meeting with leaders from AD Ports Group. The delegation, led by Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, the group’s Managing Director and CEO, visited Al Nakheel Palace to discuss ways to boost development and sustainable growth in Al Dhafra.
Sheikh Hamdan got an update on exciting projects from AD Ports Group. They’re focusing on building better marine infrastructure and cruise ship facilities on Sir Bani Yas Island, a stunning spot off the UAE coast. These efforts aim to turn the island into a top destination for tourists and boats.
Sheikh Hamdan praised the work, saying it creates a well-rounded environment that lifts the quality of life for people in Abu Dhabi, including Al Dhafra. He tied it to the UAE’s big push for sustainable development across the emirate. This all lines up with the vision from President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who prioritizes projects that strengthen the UAE’s spot on the world economic stage and improve everyday life for residents.
The upgrades on Sir Bani Yas Island will help draw more visitors and make it a hotspot for luxury yachts and cruise ships. Sheikh Hamdan noted that this will solidify Abu Dhabi’s role as a leading global maritime hub.
Captain Al Shamisi echoed the enthusiasm, calling Sheikh Hamdan’s vision for Al Dhafra a major motivator. “We’re pushing ahead with plans to expand the island’s infrastructure and upgrade services for luxury yachts and cruise ships,” he said. “This positions Sir Bani Yas as a world-class spot for maritime tourism and adventure.”
