Delhi’s government launched a special women’s health drive on Saturday as part of the Sewa Pakhwada celebrations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The event, called Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan (SNSPA), took place at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Karkardooma Village and Babarpur.
Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh highlighted that women’s health tops the government’s list of priorities in Delhi. “Under this campaign, all services come free of charge,” he said, urging women across the city to head to these centers or health camps for check-ups.
The drive started on September 17 and runs until October 2, Gandhi Jayanti. During this two-week period, the Delhi government offers a full lineup of services to boost women’s empowerment through better health. These include handing out PMJAY cards, Ayushman cards, and ABHA IDs, plus various digital health tools.
A large crowd of women turned up on Saturday for free medical exams, chats with specialist doctors, and medicines—no cost at all. The program bundles comprehensive care for women and kids under one roof. Pregnant women get essential drugs, high-risk pregnancy screenings, Mother and Child Protection cards, and vaccines, all for free.
To promote nutrition awareness, organizers held recipe contests. They also encouraged people to pledge for blood and eye donations. Dr. Singh added, “Women form the backbone of every family. When Delhi’s women stay healthy and strong, their families thrive, and so does our nation. This fits right into PM Modi’s goal of turning Delhi into a hub for a developed India.”
Specialist doctors from GTB Hospital—in gynecology, ENT, ophthalmology, and dermatology—and from Hedgewar Hospital in medicine and pediatrics joined the camps to deliver top-notch care.
Kids received immunizations, while moms learned about nutrition and supplements. A dedicated counter at the camps shares tips on healthy eating and diets. Children also got free weight checks and growth measurements.
For teen girls and young people, the team distributed deworming tablets and iron supplements at no charge. Through the Udaan scheme, the Delhi government provided free sanitary napkins. Married couples received “Nayee Pahal Kits” to spark family health discussions.
This free health checkups Delhi initiative aims to make women’s health services more accessible, helping build stronger communities one visit at a time.
