Hyderabad – Nov 24 (LatestNewsX) – Telangana’s Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on Monday that he plans to turn Kodangal into an international education center.
Speaking at a public gathering in his own constituency of Kodangal, located in Vikarabad district, he highlighted the progress made by laying foundation stones for several development projects. He also vowed to make the town a “Noida of Telangana” and built a vision of Kodangal becoming the model constituency of the state.
The chief minister outlined a portfolio aimed at attracting students from across Telangana: a range of new institutions including medical, veterinary, agricultural, paramedical, nursing, and engineering colleges; integrated residential schools; junior and degree colleges; and even a military school will be established in the area.
“Quality education is the only way to secure a bright future for everyone,” he explained. He added that the state government is already feeding 28,000 pupils in 312 government schools through a breakfast programme, and that a centralise‑kitchen mid‑day meal scheme is underway to ensure no child goes hungry. “Like mothers, the government is caring for the children’s wellbeing by offering nutritious food,” he said.
The CM emphasized that the people’s government places education, irrigation and women empowerment at the top of its agenda. He noted that the state’s economic growth depends on women’s happiness and dignity. Accordingly, the government has launched a number of empowerment schemes to help women live with self‑respect.
Distributing fine rice, providing free RTC bus travel and a ₹500 cooking‑gas cylinder earned cheers from households. The government has also commissioned women’s groups to set up solar power plants, giving them a chance to compete with major industry players.
The Chief Minister mentioned that local farmers are voluntarily donating land for a Kodangal Lift Irrigation Project, which he expects to complete within three years, thereby securing irrigation for the region.
He also spoke about plans to transform the Lagacherla industrial zone into an internationally competitive industrial hub. A long‑delayed railway line to Kodangal is expected to be finished in the near future; the 70‑year‑old dream of the town’s residents will become reality as the railway works commence in about nine months.
In addition, the CM announced the development of cement industries in Kodangal and encouraged the constituency to become a development model for the state.
Reaffirming that the “Indiramma Rajyam” will continue for a full decade, he urged women to support the comprehensive progress of Kodangal and called on citizens to elect capable candidates in the upcoming local‑body elections.
