In a promising meet-up, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy have decided to join hands on exciting projects in software, technology, life sciences, urban transit, and the movies. This collaboration aims to boost jobs and growth in both states.
The two leaders chatted at length during the 12th annual Public Affairs Forum of India conference in New Delhi on Friday. They focused on building strong ties in key areas like software and technology, life sciences, urban transit, and the film industry.
Governor Phil Murphy fully backed CM Revanth Reddy’s "Telangana Rising" vision. He pointed out the many similarities between New Jersey and Telangana. "Together, we can make a huge difference for each other’s economies," Murphy said enthusiastically.
To kick things off, both agreed to send trade delegations to one another’s states. This move will help ramp up investments, create wealth, and open up new job opportunities in software, technology, life sciences, and beyond.
Governor Murphy also pledged strong support for Hyderabad’s urban and public transport push through the NJ Trains Authority. From the Metro to MMTS, New Jersey’s government has already stepped up big time. "I thank Governor Murphy for this friendship," CM Revanth Reddy shared.
The CM went further by inviting top New Jersey universities like NJIT, Princeton, and Rutgers to set up offshore campuses in Hyderabad. "We’ll give them all the support they need," he promised, highlighting Telangana’s push for education and innovation.
They also talked about promoting film industry tourism to draw more visitors and investments to both regions.
On X (formerly Twitter), CM Revanth Reddy posted about their wide-ranging discussion. It covered education, green energy, the Musi Riverfront Development Project, and more. "I shared our Telangana Vision 2047 plans and ideas with them. We highlighted Telangana’s achievements and priorities in IT and pharma sectors," he added.
Governor Murphy’s wife and other New Jersey representatives joined the meeting, making it a lively exchange of ideas for future partnerships.
