In Chennai on Sunday, Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister and DMK leader M.K. Stalin will chair a video‑conference with party district secretaries, MPs and MLAs to tackle a hot issue: the Election Commission of India’s special revision of voter lists.
The commission began a “Special Intensive Revision” of the state’s electoral rolls in late‑2023 as part of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election preparations. The DMK says the exercise is politically biased and threatens to remove minority voters and supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
DMK General Secretary Duraimurugan said Stalin will meet all district secretaries at 10 a.m. via video call from the party headquarters, Anna Arivalayam, in Chennai. The meeting will examine the progress of the roll‑revision, ensure legitimate voters are protected, and boost ground‑level oversight.
“We will do whatever we can to stop irregularities and keep the process transparent,” Duraimurugan added.
Under Stalin’s leadership, the DMK will unite its cadres to monitor the revision closely and defend voter rights ahead of the 2026 state elections.
