TN CM Stalin to visit Coimbatore & Erode next week, inaugurate projects valued at over Rs 800 crore

Chennai, Nov 22 (LatestNewsX) – Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will be on a two‑day tour of Coimbatore and Erode districts on the 25ᵗʰ and 26ᵗʰ of November. The visit is aimed at launching new programmes, unveiling major infrastructure projects, and meeting with a range of stakeholders and government personnel.

On the 25ᵗʰ, the CM will open the highly anticipated “Coimbatore Semmozhi Poonga,” a landmark green lung being built on the premises of the Coimbatore Central Prison. Spanning 45 acres, the eco‑park will feature landscaped gardens, walking trails, themed zones and nature‑based attractions, positioning it as a primary recreation spot for the city. Its inauguration marks a key moment in Coimbatore’s urban renewal strategy.

Before the CM’s arrival, Municipal Administration Minister K.N. Nehru inspected the site on Saturday together with DMK MLA V. Senthil Balaji, District Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar, and Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabakaran. Minister Nehru urged officials to hurry the remaining construction, especially at the entrance, and indicated that the park should be open to the public by the first week of December. “Most works are complete. Only finishing touches remain, primarily at the entrance. Additional manpower has been deployed to meet the deadline,” he said.

During his stop in Coimbatore, CM Stalin will also converse with schoolchildren and later attend the “Tamil Nadu Rising Conclave,” a prominent investment forum expected to showcase fresh industrial and infrastructure announcements.

On the 26ᵗʰ, the chief minister will head to Erode district, where he will unveil a memorial hall featuring a statue of freedom fighter Pollan at Jayarampuram in Modakkurichi. Following that, he will pay respects at the memorial for Theeran Chinnamalai, a celebrated Independence‑era icon of the region. The CM will then preside over a major government function at the newly built Erode bus stand, launching completed works, laying foundations for future schemes, and distributing welfare support to 180,000 recipients totaling ₹605 crore. He will also unveil a statue of former MP S.K. Paramasivan at Chithode; Paramasivan was instrumental in the growth of the Tamil Nadu Co‑operative Milk Producers’ Federation (Aavin).

The entire itinerary is expected to accelerate development and welfare programmes across western Tamil Nadu.
