Two cameras installed in Rajasthan Assembly with inflated prices hint at corruption and vested interest: LoP Jully

Rajasthan Assembly Camera Controversy: Opposition Alleges Spying and Overpriced Purchases

In a fresh twist to the Rajasthan Assembly hidden cameras row, Leader of the Opposition Tika Ram Jully has dropped bombshell claims against the BJP government. On Saturday, the senior Congress leader accused authorities of installing two extra CCTV cameras not just to spy on opposition MLAs, but also buying them at inflated prices—pointing fingers at possible corruption.

Jully didn’t hold back, slamming the Rajasthan BJP-led government and Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani for what he called a blatant privacy violation. "These cameras scream spying on opposition leaders," he said, adding that the whole setup reeks of vested interests and shady dealings.

The drama unfolded after Congress MLAs raised a stink over the cameras during a recent session. Jully revealed that while the assembly has had CCTV footage streaming live to media and YouTube for years—with no one complaining—these two new ones were different. "Their feed wasn’t going public; it was routed straight to some mystery person," he alleged.

Who is this secret viewer, and what exactly were they watching? Jully questioned if the goal was to breach the privacy and confidential talks of opposition MLAs. He even hinted at evidence tampering, claiming officials are now tweaking access rights and wiping old records to cover tracks.

But it gets juicier: Jully alleged the cameras were procured at prices way above market rates. "Experts confirm similar spec CCTV cameras sell cheaper in the market," he pointed out. "This isn’t just about invading privacy—it’s a scam to line pockets with public money."

Labeling the move "undemocratic," Jully said Rajasthan’s people are furious and demanding answers. "The government and Speaker must explain: Who was the ‘Jagga Jasoos’ spying on us? Why overpay for these cameras, and what’s the real motive?"

As the controversy brews in Jaipur, all eyes are on how the Rajasthan Assembly and BJP leaders respond to these serious spying allegations and corruption charges. Stay tuned for updates on this Rajasthan politics showdown.
