Two killed as bus rams into truck in Alwar

On Tuesday morning, a head‑on collision on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway near Pinan Interchange in Rajasthan’s Alwar district left two people dead and 31 others hurt. The crash happened when a bus heading from Ahmedabad to Delhi struck a parked truck at about 6 a.m., so forcefully that the front half of the vehicle became lodged inside the truck.

The bus had left Ahmedabad at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, and as soon as police learn of the accident, members of Rajgarh police rushed to the scene. With help from nearby villagers, the officers managed to extricate passengers from the mangled bus and carried the wounded to the nearest hospitals. Locals reported that the impact caused a series of loud explosions that jolted sleeping villagers awake, prompting them to rush to the site.

One passenger died instantly, while a more‑recent passenger named Roshan later succumbed to his injuries during treatment. In total, 31 injured passengers were taken to Pinan Community Health Centre; those with critical conditions were then transferred to hospitals in Alwar and Jaipur. Ambulance crews struggled to keep up, as the number of injured exceeded the available vehicles, delaying medical assistance and creating a major traffic jam across the expressway.

Police later had to bring in a crane to pry the bus free from the truck, restoring traffic flow once again.
