India’s Unique Identification Authority (UIDAI) brought together more than 700 experts for a lively one-day conference in Hyderabad on Monday. The event, called Aadhaar Samvaad, focused on fresh ideas to boost Aadhaar services and make life easier for everyday users across the country.

This gathering carried extra weight because it marked Aadhaar’s 16th Foundation Day. What started as a simple digital ID system has evolved into a key driver of India’s growth story. It empowers millions, streamlines government services, and sparks innovation in fields like healthcare, education, and business.

S Krishnan, Secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), kicked off the talks by praising Aadhaar as the solid base for India’s digital public infrastructure. He highlighted how it powers countless services while keeping user data super secure. “The quality and ease Aadhaar brings are top-notch,” Krishnan said, urging UIDAI to keep innovating with people’s convenience front and center.

UIDAI Chairperson Neelkanth Mishra stressed the need for deeper ties with partners. He shared excitement about upcoming innovations that will unlock new ways to use Aadhaar in the near future.

CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar took the stage to remind everyone that Aadhaar goes beyond its 12-digit number—it’s a path to empowerment, easy access, and trust. He pointed out its growing role in India’s digital transformation, from helping with social welfare to fueling startups and improving governance.

The day got even more special with the launch of Aadhaar MyStamp and a commemorative cover by the Post Master General of Telangana Circle, celebrating Aadhaar’s milestone birthday.

UIDAI also rolled out its new Aadhaar Brand Manual. This guide sets straightforward rules for branding on apps, papers, signs, events, and more—ensuring clear, consistent messaging that builds instant recognition.

A highlight came from UIDAI’s Technology Centre, which demoed the upcoming Aadhaar app. It promises to put key services right in users’ pockets and give them better control over sharing their Aadhaar details for things like banking or benefits.

This was the fourth Aadhaar Samvaad, following successful events in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi. After the opening speeches, breakout sessions dove into hot topics like innovating digital identity systems, opening Aadhaar to private companies, and the latest tweaks to enrollment and updates.

The conference shows how Aadhaar continues to shape inclusive growth and digital inclusion for all Indians.
