‘Unity March’, celebrating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, to enter MP today

Bhopal, Nov 26 (LatestNewsX) – The ‘Unity March’, launched in Nagpur (Maharashtra) to honour Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, is set to arrive in Indore on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will greet the procession, alongside Indore Mayor Pushyamitara Bhargava and MP Shankar Lalwani. The event will also see participation from District Collector Shivam Verma, Corporation Commissioner Dilip Kumar Yadav, and several local BJP leaders.
CM Yadav is scheduled to flag the march after laying a wreath at Patel’s statue near the Khajrana temple, officially launching the rally. Earlier on Tuesday, Mayor Bhargava and BJP State Vice President Surendra Sharma inspected the final arrangements with senior district and police officials.
According to Mayor Bhargava, participants will kick off the day with a yoga session, followed by a presentation on Indore’s cleanliness programme and a discussion on Swachh Ata initiatives. Meanwhile, CM Yadav will join a sapling drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign at Khajrana Temple.
Afterwards, the Chief Minister will adorn Patel’s statue at Chhoti Gwaltoli and address the crowd, marking the formal opening of the Unity March. From Indore, the yatra will head toward Godhara in Gujarat, also traversing the MP districts of Dhar and Jhabua.
This rally forms part of four ‘Unity Yatras’ happening nationwide to commemorate Patel’s 150th birthday. Patel’s contributions to India’s nation‑building are highlighted as essential in deepening patriotic values. Numerous programmes across the country are being organised to reflect on his legacy of unity and guardianship of sovereignty. Meanwhile, Gujarat will kick off an 11‑day ‘National Padyatra’ on Wednesday to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Patel.
