Massive Health Drive Kicks Off in Uttar Pradesh on PM Modi’s 75th Birthday
In Lucknow, a huge health initiative got underway today to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the state-wide programs at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Scientific Convention Centre in KGMU, putting a strong focus on women’s health and childcare.
CM Yogi made exciting announcements for Anganwadi workers, promising them smartphones and a big salary hike. He kicked off health camps in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, aiming to reach out to women and kids first. During the event, he personally performed ‘Annaprashan’ – a traditional first-food ceremony – for infants and handed out nutritional supplements at a baby shower for pregnant women.
This drive features a whopping 20,324 health camps across the state. People can get free checks for blood, blood pressure, diabetes, oral cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, and TB. To boost youth involvement, organizers set up nearly 507 blood donation camps too.
CM Yogi praised the health department’s efforts and said he expects the 15-day campaign to give free treatment to thousands. These camps link up with Aarogya Mandirs, community health centers, and medical colleges for better reach.
Talking about PM Modi’s vision, CM Yogi highlighted key schemes like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Matru Vandana, Kanya Sumangala, and the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. He noted how ‘New India’ has warmly embraced these women empowerment programs.
The Uttar Pradesh government supports girls’ education for free and offers a Rs 25,000 package under the Kanya Sumangala Yojana. Plus, families get Rs 1 lakh help for each daughter’s wedding through the Mass Marriage scheme. With 1.89 lakh Anganwadi centers and 10 lakh self-help groups, around 1 crore women in UP have turned self-reliant.
CM Yogi shared impressive health sector wins. In the last eight years, the state built 41 new medical colleges. The infant mortality rate dropped from 45 to 37, and maternal mortality stands at 141 – clear signs that Uttar Pradesh is moving forward.
From 2015-16 to 2019-21, anaemia rates fell by 5.1 percent. The state also saw drops in stunting, underweight issues, and wasting among kids and mothers. Big milestone: Encephalitis, which killed 50,000 children over 40 years, is now wiped out. Teams are working hard to end malaria, dengue, kala-azar, and tuberculosis too.
A special Poshan Mission launched today targets kids aged 3-6 with better nutrition. CM Yogi honored blood donors – with 224 donations on the spot – and thanked Ni-kshay Mitras for their TB fight.
He gave a shoutout to women’s self-help groups in rural and urban areas. These 10 lakh rural and 1 lakh urban groups have empowered 1 crore women to become ‘atmanirbhar’. Community drives like blood donations and nutrition kit handouts got a big thumbs up from him.
This health drive in Uttar Pradesh shows the state’s commitment to PM Modi’s goals for a healthier, stronger India, especially for women and children.
