Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – The state’s agriculture team, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has rolled out new support plans for Rabi‑season farmers. The government will hand out more than 92,000 “mini‑kits” to boost crop yield and launch 8,385 Kisan Pathshalas—small training centers—across the state.
The focus is on pulse crops, which grow better during Rabi than Kharif and suffer fewer pests and diseases. To help farmers grow high‑yield varieties, the state will also give Rs 4,000 per acre in grants and create demonstration plots.

Under the National Food Security and Poshan Mission, farmers get Rs 5,000 per quintal for seed age under ten years and Rs 2,500 for older seed. Cluster‑demonstration grants reach Rs 9,000 per hectare, while crop‑method demos are funded at Rs 15,000 per hectare. Seed subsidies are issued on a go‑live basis, and demonstration payments go straight into farmers’ bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer.
Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said the state sees farmers as the country’s backbone. “We are encouraging higher production this Rabi season,” he said. The ministry recently held a state‑wide seminar where thousands of farmers learned modern growing techniques. The message is clear: treat seeds with bio‑chemicals and crop protectants before sowing, and use rhizobium culture to lock in 20‑25 kg of nitrogen per seed—cutting future costs and boosting yield. ()
