BJP leaders arrive in Delhi ahead of core committee meet on Bihar polls

BJP leaders flew into Delhi on Friday to prepare for a key NDA core‑committee meeting on Saturday, where they will lock in names for the upcoming two‑phase Bihar Assembly elections. The state’s 243 seats will be contested on November 6 and 11, with vote counting scheduled for November 14.

Bihari BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal dismissed reports that Union Minister Chirag Paswan was upset over seat‑sharing talks. “The NDA is united and ready to win a strong majority,” Jaiswal said to . He added that all alliance negotiations are finished, with only a formal announcement pending. “It will be released by tomorrow evening,” he said.

Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi also clarified that he was not angry over seat‑sharing. “I only had requests,” he told reporters. “We need a double‑engine government for the people, and we want Nitish Kumar as chief minister again.” Manjhi promised to update the public after a parliamentary meeting.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha focused on good governance and a clean political system. “This NDA meeting is for a better government. Once seat-sharing is announced, everything will be clear,” he said.

BJP MP Pradeep Kumar Singh echoed the confidence, saying the NDA’s seat‑sharing talks are proceeding smoothly and that the alliance is united. “We will fight with full strength and aim for more than 225 seats,” he said.

State Minister Mangal Pandey confirmed the NDA’s solidarity: “We will contest the elections as one team and win.”

The election battle pits the NDA, led by the BJP, against the INDIA coalition. INDIA is headed by Tejashwi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal and includes the Congress, CPI‑ML, CPI, CPI‑Marxist and the VIP party. Some reports also mention Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj campaign claiming all 243 seats.

Vote watchers will watch the NDA’s strategy closely ahead of the November elections, as the alliance seeks to secure a decisive majority in Bihar’s state assembly.
