In New Delhi, India, senior IPS officer Praveer Ranjan stepped into the role of Director General for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Tuesday. Before this promotion, Ranjan led the force’s Airport Security division as Special Director General.
The CISF marked the occasion with a smooth handover, saying goodbye to outgoing Director General Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, who retired after a stellar career. Bhatti, another IPS officer, passed the baton to Ranjan during a special farewell ceremony at the CISF headquarters in New Delhi.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the CISF celebrated the transition. “We extend a warm welcome to Director General Sh. Praveer Ranjan, IPS, as he takes office and carries forward our mission to protect the nation with dedication and integrity,” the post read. It also honored Bhatti’s leadership, noting his retirement and the event that recognized his contributions to the force.
This leadership change keeps the CISF focused on its key duties, like securing vital infrastructure across India. Ranjan’s experience in airport security positions him well to guide the force into the future.
