Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fly to De Dehradun on Sunday to kick off Uttarakhand’s 25‑year anniversary and open a series of new development plans that together cost more than ₹8,140 crore.

On X, Modi announced, “We are fully committed to developing and enriching Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Tomorrow, on November 9, I will join the silver‑jubilee celebrations of the state’s formation.” He added that he would start the day at 12:30 p.m. in De Dehradun by unveiling foundation stones for projects in education, irrigation, sports and more, and by announcing a new postage stamp to mark the milestone.

The campaigns earmarked for the visit cover key sectors: drinking water, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports and skill training. In total, the PM will launch projects worth more than ₹930 crore and lay foundation stones for initiatives worth over ₹7,210 crore.

A major highlight is the ₹62 crore direct payment to more than 28,000 farmers under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, which will transfer money straight into bank accounts.

Key projects announced include:
* AMRUT‑scheme water supply delivering coverage to 23 zones of De Dehradun.
* New electrical substation in Pithoragarh.
* Solar power plants on government buildings.
* An AstroTurf hockey ground at Nainital’s Haldwani Stadium.
* The Song Dam Drinking Water Project, which will supply 150 million litres of water per day to De Dehradun.
* Jamarani Dam Multipurpose Project in Nainital – a source of water, irrigation and electricity.
* A women’s sports college in Champawat.
* A state‑of‑the‑art dairy plant in Nainital.

Earlier, Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami praised the state’s founders and noted the excitement of the people awaiting the PM’s arrival. “People are eager to welcome Modi,” he said, pointing out the rapid progress seen under his vision.

Modi’s De Dehradun trip represents a big push for Uttarakhand’s growth, with new infrastructure, clean water and agricultural support positioned to boost the region’s future.
