In Mumbai, actress Sonal Chauhan—known for roles in “Jannat” and “Adipurush”—has just signed on to the upcoming film Mirzapur: The Film.
Chauhan shared the news on social media, showing a gift hamper and a handwritten note from Excel Entertainment. The note read: “Dear Sonal, we are excited to have you on the team for ‘Mirzapur’. Can’t wait to see the magic you bring to the screen.”
She replied with enthusiasm, saying, “Still sinking in… So glad to be part of such an incredible journey.” She added, “I’m immensely excited to join Mirzapur: The Film, and I can’t wait for you all to see what we have to unpack on the screen!”
The film brings back fan‑favorite Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, joined by Ali Fazal, Guddu Pandit, Divyendu Sharma (as Munna Tripathi) and Shweta Tripathi (as Golu Gupta). Abhishek Banerjee and Jitendra Kumar will also play key roles.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and backed by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, the new crime‑thriller expands the hit series that follows crime boss Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district.
The “Mirzapur” saga has become one of India’s biggest binge‑watch hits, shot across towns like Mirzapur, Lucknow, Varanasi and more.
In other news, Sonal Chauhan is set to debut in Punjabi cinema with Shera, where she will star opposite Parmish Verma for the first time.
