New Delhi, Dec 27 – A gathering of the Customs Clearance Facilitation Committee (CCFC) took place in Delhi on Saturday, with the Chief Commissioner of Customs for the Delhi zone chairing the session. Officials reiterated that easing trade continues to be a marathon that depends on steady collaboration among customs officials, partner agencies, logistics custodians, and the entire trading community.
During the meeting, stakeholders highlighted several operational bottlenecks. The discussion produced concrete action plans aimed at boosting coordination and trimming clearance times, while the process itself was praised for its openness and cooperative tone, strengthening confidence in the customs framework.
Participants included government bodies such as the Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI), the Plant Quarantine Authority, and the Drug Controller. Trade associations— the Customs Broker Fraternity, Assocham, and the General Joint Export Promoters’ Committee (GJEPC)—were also present, along with importers, exporters, and departmental officers from across the capital’s trade ecosystem.
The committee reviewed recent policy and digital initiatives introduced by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), focusing on how these changes are being rolled out within the Delhi Customs Zone.
In a statement, officials reaffirmed the Delhi Customs Zone’s commitment to improving business convenience under the rule of law. The ministry highlighted the guiding principles of “Transparency, Accessibility, and Efficiency,” emphasizing that these values not only underpin customs operations but also build trust and empower stakeholders to engage openly with the administration. By embedding transparency in decision‑making, accessibility in processes, and a welcoming policy for dialogue and problem‑solving, Delhi customs aims to nurture a culture of trust, efficiency, and shared responsibility.
