Dubai, Oct 7 – India’s cricketers Abhishek Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav and Smriti Mandhana have been shortlisted for the ICC Player of the Month award for September. The three players were chosen for their strong performances in recent international tournaments.

Men’s nominees

  • Abhishek Sharma – The left‑handed opener carried India to victory at the Asia Cup in the UAE. He scored 314 runs in seven T20Is at a blistering strike‑rate of 200, earning him Player‑of‑the‑Series honours. His aggressive batting helped India win every match, and he achieved a historic 931 rating points in the ICC men’s T20I batting rankings.

  • Kuldeep Yadav – The left‑arm wrist spinner took 17 wickets in seven T20Is during the same tournament, the most by any bowler. His best figures, 4 for 30, came in the final against Pakistan. Kuldeep also claimed four wickets against the UAE in the league stage, finishing with an average of 9.29 and an economy of 6.27.

  • Brian Bennett – The 21‑year‑old Zimbabwe batter posted 497 runs in nine T20Is, averaging 55.22 with a strike‑rate of 165.66. He led the run‑scoring charts against Sri Lanka and Namibia and then made a powerful start in the T20 World Cup Africa Qualifiers, scoring 72, 65, and 111 in his first three innings.

Women’s nominees
