Adani Ahmedabad Marathon unveils official jersey ahead of 9th edition

In Ahmedabad on Saturday, the official jersey for the 9th Adani Ahmedabad Marathon was revealed at Palladium Mall before a crowd of fitness fans and local runners. The new kit, made of 15,000 recycled plastic bottle caps, blends artistry, sustainability and a nod to India’s flag with its bold tricolor design.
The jersey came from a collaboration between designer Aaquib Wani and Adani Sportsline. Wani invited residents to submit ideas, then blended those suggestions with his own storytelling style. The result is a vibrant print that highlights the marathon’s main mission, #Run4OurSoldiers, and reflects Ahmedabad’s cultural buzz.
“Unveiling this jersey marks an important milestone,” said Sanjay Adesara, Chief Business Officer at Adani Sportsline. “I thank Aaquib Wani for partnering with our community. His design captures the marathon’s growing legacy and the city’s creative energy.”
The Adani Ahmedabad Marathon, listed on the AIMS Global Marathon Event List, continues its goal of honoring India’s armed forces. This year’s race starts at Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park on November 30 and will run past landmarks like Atal Bridge, Gandhi Ashram and Ellis Bridge. Runners can choose from a Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10‑km or 5‑km option.
Since its first run in 2017, the event has grown into one of the world’s most scenic city races. The first two editions attracted nearly 20,000 runners. Attendance dipped in the third and fourth runs but the 2021 event, the first to be held after COVID‑19, welcomed more than 8,000 participants over two days using a time‑slot system to stay safe. In 2022, the marathon joined the AIMS World Running Global Marathon Event List—making it the only race from Ahmedabad on that international ranking. By 2024, the #Run4OurSoldiers event drew over 20,000 runners, and last year it helped 3,000 defence personnel take part.
Proceeds from the marathon go toward supporting the welfare of the armed forces, while participants share a powerful message of gratitude. The jersey, crafted from recycled caps, and the event itself symbolize that spirit—turning community effort into a national tribute.
