Earlier, Anjali had already cleared the quarter‑finals with a clean‑sheet victory over Aahana Singh, and Suraj became the only Indian player to reach the men’s semi‑finals.

The tournament began on Wednesday with Indian Aaradhana Kasturiraj taking a 3‑0 match‑point win against fellow countrywoman Shuvra Borah (11‑6, 11‑9, 11‑7) in Thane.

In the round of 32, Rahul Baitha advanced past Divit Poojary (11‑7, 11‑5, 11‑8), and other Indian wrestlers—Reiva Nimbalkar over Rani Gupta, and Gurveer Singh over Ayaan Vaziralli—also secured straight‑sets victories.

Just outside India, teenage up‑and‑coming Anahat Singh set the tone by defeating veteran Joshna Chinappa 3‑2 in a tightly contested final of the Daly College SRFI Indian Open in Indore. Their 55‑minute duel ended 11‑8, 11‑13, 11‑9, 6‑11, 11‑9, giving Anahat her 13th PSA title.

Joshna Chinappa, formerly world No. 10 and now 39, pushed the match to the wire, even forcing a 6‑all tie in the last game before the young champion pulled ahead.
