The Archery Premier League (APL) returned to action in New Delhi after Tuesday’s rain‑induced washout. At the Yamuna Sports Complex, six teams fought two matches each on Wednesday, with the field clearing up and the weather staying sunny and warm.

The unchecked Rajputana Royals kept their winning run alive, securing a seventh straight victory. They beat the Kakatiya Knights 5‑1, putting the Knights on their sixth loss in seven games and virtually ending the Knights’ chances of moving into the top four.

Morning action saw the Chero Archers take a decisive lead over the Mighty Marathas, 5‑1. In the afternoon, the Royals faced the Chola Chiefs, with Ojas Deotale returning for the Royals. The match finished 6‑2 in favor of the Royals, giving them another clean sweep of points.

The Knights then played the Prithviraj Yodhas, but they fell 1‑5. The evening’s double‑header went off without a hitch, as there was no rain to disturb the schedule and temperatures stayed comfortable for shooters.

The Royals capped the day by defeating the Knights again, 5‑1, and confirming their spot in the semi‑finals. Their victory marked the seventh win in a row and kept them at the top of the standings.

In another tight battle, the Majestic Marathas edged past the Prithviraj Yodhas, 5‑3, after the teams were level at 3‑3 in the final set. Earlier, the Chola Chiefs, backed by star marksmen Brady Ellison and Deepika Kumari, narrowly defeated the Chero Archers, 6‑2.

Because of the Royals’ dominance, the Marathas’ win raises their total to 10 points, bringing them close to the semi‑final cut. The Chiefs and the Yodhas each hold six points from three victories, but the Chiefs sit ahead in third place thanks to a better set difference. The Chero Archers sit fifth with two wins.

With the Rajputana Royals leading the table on 14 points and a massive 29‑point set difference, the APL points table is shaping up to be a dramatic race. The next round will see whether the Royals can keep their flawless record and whether the teams fighting for the final semi‑final spot can pull a surprise.
