Mumbai’s young equestrian star, 13-year-old Stasya Pandya, is all set to make India proud on the global stage. She has been selected to represent the country at the prestigious FEI Children Classic Finals – Silver Tour, announced by the Equestrian Federation of India.
Stasya shone bright at the selection trials held from September 11 to 14 in Bengaluru at The Embassy International Riding School. In a tough two-round challenge, she rode her horse Cougar Des Fees flawlessly through a 110 cm course with 13 obstacles. She nailed a clear first round and clocked an impressive 43.63 seconds in the jump-off, securing second place out of 18 riders.
This standout performance has shot her to the top of the national rankings in the Silver Tour (Overall). What’s even more exciting? She’s the only rider with zero penalties across all four rounds, proving her skill and focus in equestrian show jumping.
For those new to the sport, the FEI Children Classic is a big deal—it’s an annual international series by the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) for kids aged 12-14. Riders compete in their home countries on standardized courses, then head to the finals abroad on borrowed horses. With Gold, Silver, and Bronze tours, it gives young talents from around the world a fair shot at becoming future champions in horse riding competitions.
Stasya couldn’t hide her joy. “It was an amazing experience competing with the top riders in my age category across the country,” she said. “I am extremely happy to get the opportunity to represent my country and to rank number one in the Silver Tour. I would like to thank my entire support system, starting with my coach Bobin Tshering for his unwavering belief in me, the grooms who take care of my horse, The Amateur Riders Club, Mumbai for providing me with world-class infrastructure and training support, my school Billabong High International School, Malad for giving me the flexibility to pursue my dream, and of course, my parents for their patience and encouragement.”
Stasya’s achievement isn’t just a win for her—it’s a huge boost for Indian equestrian sports. As she gears up for the FEI Children Classic Finals, the whole nation is cheering her on.
