India’s cricket team delivered a thrilling five-wicket win over Pakistan in the Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 final, sparking nationwide celebrations. Union Home Minister Amit Shah called it a “phenomenal victory” on X, saying the team’s fierce energy overwhelmed their rivals once again. He added that India seems destined to win, no matter the arena—on the field or beyond.

The match at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday had everyone on the edge of their seats. Pakistan started strong, reaching 113/1 in just 12.4 overs. But India’s spinners turned the game upside down. Kuldeep Yadav sparked a collapse, taking 4 wickets for 30 runs, including three in a crucial 17th over. He bounced back after leaking runs early, proving why he’s a key player in the Indian cricket team.

Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy grabbed two wickets each, while Jasprit Bumrah sealed the deal with two late strikes. Pakistan crumbled, losing their last nine wickets for just 33 runs and all out for 146 in 19.1 overs. This unbeaten run helped India claim their ninth Asia Cup title.

Chasing 147, India hit a rough patch early, tumbling to 20/3 with Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and captain Suryakumar Yadav falling cheaply. Enter Tilak Varma, who played a cool-headed knock of 69 not out from 51 balls, featuring three fours and four sixes. His maturity shone through in the high-pressure India vs Pakistan clash. Shivam Dube then unleashed a flurry of sixes to guide India home with two balls to spare.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the praise on X, linking the win to military pride. He wrote, “#OperationSindoor on the games field. Outcome is the same – India wins! Congrats to our cricketers.”

Off the field, Team India made a bold statement. They reportedly refused to accept the Asia Cup trophy and medals from Asian Cricket Council chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also leads the Pakistan Cricket Board. BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya highlighted this on X as a strong move by the Indian team in the ongoing cricket rivalry.
