MS Dhoni, India’s legendary former captain, just finished a DGCA‑approved drone‑pilot course and earned his licence, the cricketer announced on Facebook. The flight‑training program was run by Garuda Aerospace, a remote‑pilot training organisation that has already trained more than 2,500 pilots.
“The DGCA Drone Pilot Certification program with Garuda Aerospace is complete,” Dhoni wrote. “I’m thrilled to have joined the growing world of aviation.”
Garuda Aerospace’s founder and CEO, Agnishwar Jayaprakash, said it was a “milestone” that Dhoni, who also invests in the company, completed the training. “He picked it up very quickly and stayed focused the whole time,” Jayaprakash said. “Mahi Bhai’s hands‑on approach shows our commitment to skill, innovation, and excellence in the drone industry.”
Beyond cricket, Dhoni has already diversified into other ventures. He received the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in India’s Territorial Army in 2011, and his cricketing résumé remains impressive: 17,266 international runs, 829 wickets, and 538 matches played for India. He also led Chennai Super Kings to five Indian Premier League titles and is still one of the league’s most active players.
The news adds another feather to Dhoni’s long list of achievements, showing how the former captain continues to explore new horizons, from the pitch to the skies.
