CISCE triumphs over Bihar to win the 64th Subroto Cup Sub Junior Boys (U-15) title

Minerva Public School from Mohali delivered a stunning performance in the Sub Junior Boys final of the 64th Subroto Cup International Football Tournament, crushing Vidyachal International School from Muzaffarpur by 6-0 to lift the trophy.

The exciting match took place at the Air Force Station Yelahanka in Bengaluru, drawing a lively crowd of football fans. Players from Minerva, representing the CISCE board, dominated the game with goals from Mahesh in the 4th and 50+1st minutes, Letgouhao Kipgen netting twice in the 19th and 35th, Bickson in the 37th, and Rimoson in the 42nd. Vidyachal from Bihar fought hard but couldn’t find the net.

Air Marshal Tejinder Singh AVSM VM, AOC-in-C of Training Command, served as the chief guest, while hockey legend PR Sreejesh—Padma Bhushan and Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna awardee—joined as the guest of honour.

The event kicked off with a sharp drill display by the Air Warrior Drill Team, followed by colorful cultural performances from students at Air Force School Yelahanka.

Minerva Public School walked away with Rs 4 lakh as winners, while Vidyachal got Rs 2 lakh for runners-up spot. Here’s a quick look at the individual awards:

  • Best Player (Rs 40,000): Letgouhao Kipgen from CISCE
  • Best Coach (Rs 25,000): Karan Kumar from Bihar
  • Best Goalkeeper (Rs 25,000): Gurtejveer from CISCE
  • Fair Play Award (Rs 50,000): Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS)
  • Best School (Rs 40,000): Vidyachal International School, Muzaffarpur (Bihar)

With the Sub Junior Boys (U-15) category wrapped up, the Subroto Cup excitement now heads back to New Delhi for the Junior Boys (U-17) tournament from September 16 to 25, 2025. Fans can catch the action at Dr Ambedkar Stadium, Tejas Football Ground Race Course, Pinto Park Football Ground, and Subroto Park Football Ground. Stay tuned for more youth football thrills!
