City beat Fulham in 9-goal epic as Haaland seals Premier League ton

London, Dec 3 – Manchester City pulled off a thrilling 5‑4 victory over Fulham in a match that added new chapters to football history. Erling Haaland joined the Premier League 100 club, and Phil Foden delivered yet another impressive brace.
Haaland opened the scoring at the 16‑minute mark, becoming the quickest player ever to reach 100 Premier League goals. In only 111 appearances, the 25‑year‑old surpassed Alan Shearer’s old benchmark by 13 games.
“To get 100 Premier League goals is huge, I’m really proud. Of course it’s a massive thing. The 100 club is a nice thing to be in and I’m happy,” Haaland said. “I knew about this record and that’s what I try to do, try to help the team by scoring goals. That’s my job.”
The first half saw a dominant City display. Tijjani Reijnders and Phil Foden both extended City’s early advantage, before Emile Smith Rowe came close in injury time, trimming the deficit. Right after the break, Foden netted again, earning a second consecutive brace as Jeremy Doku’s deflected shot off Sander Berge gave the 5‑1 lead at the 54‑minute mark.
Rather than finish at that score, Fulham staged a dramatic comeback. Alex Iwobi pulled one back at the 57‑minute mark, and substitute Samuel Chuckwueze scored twice, in the 72nd and 78th minutes, keeping the match alive.
Despite the surging pressure, City held on. Josko Gvardiol cleared a danger zone ball in the final minute, sealing the result. The win shrinks the gap with league leaders Arsenal to just two points, though the Gunners still have a game in hand.
City now sit on 28 points from 14 games, while Arsenal occupy 30 points from 13 matches and will host Brentford tomorrow.
