Mumbai, Oct 20 – Anand Mahindra, the chairman of the Mahindra Group, posted a warm welcome to American driver Chloe Chambers as she joins Mahindra Racing for the Formula E Women’s Test in Valencia, Spain, on Oct 31.
In a short X (formerly Twitter) message, Mahindra said, “Welcome, Swagatam, Chloe!” in reply to the team’s earlier announcement that Chambers would be on board for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
Chambers is one of the brightest stars in the F1 Academy. She already has two race wins, four pole positions and ten podium finishes, and she sits fourth overall with two races left in the season. The 21‑year‑old fast‑paced racer jumped from karting to U.S. Formula 4, the W Series, Porsche Sprint Challenge America—where she won 8 of 12 races—and Formula Regional Oceana, where she was the first woman to win a race and take pole.
“We’re thrilled to have Chloe on our team,” said Mahindra Racing’s CEO, Frédéric Bertrand. “Her talent and drive fit perfectly with our goals. The Women’s Test gives her a chance to get a full day behind the wheel in the new M12 Electro and to build on her experience from last year.”
Chambers will be supported by Mahindra’s experienced engineers and by former Season Seven champion Nyck de Vries, who will spend time on the pit wall after his own official testing duties between Oct 27‑30. “Having Nyck and the whole team behind me gives me confidence,” Chambers said. “I’m excited to improve and to learn as much as I can in Valencia.”
The Women’s Test, held at Circuit Ricardo Tormo, has doubled its track time this year, giving female drivers like Chambers more on‑track practice than before. Mahindra Racing, which finished fourth in last season’s FIA Formula E World Championship with five podiums, sees this test as a key opportunity to sharpen its drivers ahead of the new season.
The move underscores Mahindra Racing’s growing commitment to diversity in motorsport and to developing the next generation of talent in Formula E. By welcoming a high‑performing driver like Chloe Chambers, the team hopes to inspire more women to pursue racing careers both on and off the track.
