The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) is bringing back the Chennai Open after a three-year break, and it’s set to tee off from September 16 to 19 at the stunning Cosmo TNGF Golf Course. This fourth edition of the tournament boasts a massive prize purse of INR 1 crore, drawing top talent from across India and beyond.

Fans can look forward to watching Indian stars like Olympian Udayan Mane, Arjun Prasad, Kshitij Naveed Kaul, Shaurya Bhattacharya, defending champion Manu Gandas, and Om Prakash Chouhan battle it out on the greens. Local pride is high too, with Chennai’s own S John Royan, L Gopi, and S Prasanth leading the home challenge. It’s a great chance for golf enthusiasts in Chennai to cheer on their favorites at this PGTI event.

Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) is powering the Chennai Open 2025, and their Managing Director H Shankar couldn’t be more thrilled. “We’re excited to kick off our partnership with PGTI right here in Chennai,” he said. “As a local company, this tournament highlights our support for professional golf in a city full of sporting spirit. Best wishes to all the players!”

PGTI CEO Amandeep Johl echoed the excitement, thanking CPCL for jumping on board and Cosmo TNGF Golf Course for hosting. He also gave a shoutout to long-time sponsor IndianOil for their two decades of backing PGTI events. “Chennai has become a key stop on our tour, thanks to the support from Cosmo TNGF and sports patron Mr. N Srinivasan,” Johl added. “With the season’s amazing performances so far, we’re in for another thrilling showdown.”

The fun started early with Sunday’s Pro-Am event, where pro Karan Pratap Singh’s team clinched victory with a net score of 55. Their squad included amateurs Murali Vijay, Aarav Mammen, and Ashwath Achanta—setting a positive vibe for the main Chennai Open tournament. If you’re into PGTI golf or just love a good sports spectacle, don’t miss this one!
