Indian cricket star Yashasvi Jaiswal can’t stop raving about the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. He calls it a dream spot for athletes, packed with everything needed to train and stay fit.
The BCCI CoE stands out as a top-notch hub for sports development in India. It supports not just cricket but a range of sports, with world-class features like international-standard grounds, multiple practice pitches, cutting-edge gym equipment, medical support, and cozy amenities for players.
“I’ve had a blast here,” Jaiswal shared in a BCCI video. “The practice sessions, training, gym, running—everything a sportsman could want is right here.” He added, “It’s absolutely amazing. I love using all the facilities for recovery, rehab, skill work, gym sessions, and more. You leave feeling match-ready.”
Jaiswal has already shone in Test cricket, scoring 2,209 runs across 24 matches with an impressive average of 50.20. That includes six centuries and 12 half-centuries. Fans will see him back in action as Team India faces West Indies in a two-match Test series starting Thursday, October 2, at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
World No. 1 Test all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja echoes Jaiswal’s enthusiasm for the CoE. “This place in Bengaluru has it all for an international player—recovery, gym, grounds, nets, everything under one roof,” Jadeja said.
Jadeja steps up as vice-captain for the West Indies series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made the call while Rishabh Pant recovers from a toe fracture he picked up during the earlier England tour.
Jaiswal and Jadeja’s teamwork could spark excitement in the India vs West Indies Test series. Jadeja boasts a stellar Test record: 3,886 runs at an average of 37.73, with five centuries and 27 half-centuries, plus 330 wickets at 25.12 average, including 15 five-wicket hauls.
He dominated the recent England series too, finishing as the fourth-highest run-scorer with 516 runs in five matches at a whopping 86.00 average. That haul featured five fifties and one century.
