Hockey India has unveiled a strong 23-member squad for the Indian Junior Women Hockey team’s upcoming tour to Australia. The trip kicks off at the National Hockey Centre in Canberra from September 26 to October 2, 2025, giving these young players a prime chance to sharpen their skills.

The team will face off in five exciting matches. They’ll take on the Australia Junior Women team three times, then wrap up with two games against the Canberra Chill, a top club from Australia’s Hockey One League. This tour comes at a perfect time, helping the squad build momentum ahead of the FIH Hockey Women Junior World Cup in Santiago, Chile, this December.

Leading the charge is Captain Jyoti Singh, who’s already tasted senior-level action in the FIH Hockey Pro League earlier this year. The roster blends talented defenders, midfielders, and forwards from across India, creating a well-rounded group ready for international action.

In goal, Nidhi and Engil Harsha Rani Minz will stand tall. The defense line-up includes Manisha, Jyoti Singh (C), Lalthantluangi, Mamita Oram, Sakshi Shukla, Puja Sahoo, and Nandni. Midfield duties fall to Priyanka Yadav, Sakshi Rana, Khaidem Shileima Chanu, Rajni Kerketta, Binima Dhan, Ishika, Sunelita Toppo, and Anisha Sahu. Up front, the forwards—Lalrinpuii, Nisha Minj, Purnima Yadav, Sonam, Kanika Siwach, and Sukhveer Kaur—promise plenty of speed and scoring punch.

These athletes have been grinding in national training camps, fine-tuning their game against tough drills. Now, heading to Australia means testing themselves against world-class foes, which should boost their confidence and edge in global play.

Coach Tushar Khandker shared his thoughts on the selection: "This is a talented group of young players who have been working very hard in training. We have tried to strike the right balance across all departments, with players who can adapt to any situation. Although they are young, they are quite experienced for their age and have been playing together really well. The Australia Tour will be a great opportunity for this group to showcase their abilities and gain valuable international experience."
