Melbourne, Australia – Cricket Australia announced that the public ticket allocations for the highly‑anticipated T20I match between Australia and India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) are now sold out. The crowd‑pleasing milestone was achieved more than three weeks before the game, which is set to kick off on Friday night, October 31.
The sale reflects a huge surge in demand amid what many are calling the biggest cricket summer in recent memory. Public allocations for the 12‑day Ashes series have also disappeared, adding to the excitement. After the MCG show‑stopper, AFL member tickets went on sale today. Tickets for members of the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) will be available from tomorrow.
Cricket Australia’s press release said total sales for the BKT Tyres Men ODI and T20I Series topped 175,000 tickets. Only about 30,000 seats remain across the eight–match series. Public tickets for the Sydney and Manuka Oval games are already gone. In Adelaide and Brisbane, fewer than 5,000 seats are left for each of the ODI at Adelaide Oval and the T20I at The Gabba.
Chief Executive Todd Greenberg praised the enthusiasm: “The big crowds at the Melbourne T20I show the incredible interest in this series. We’re thrilled to see fans in such passion and look forward to delivering a world‑class experience on and off the field.” He added that having sold 175,000 tickets with just 13 days until the first ODI in Perth is a phenomenal result that highlights the strength of the rivalry and the enthusiasm of fans across Australia.
For fans who cannot attend, the action will be broadcast live on Kayo Sports and Foxtel. ABC, Triple M and SEN will also provide ball‑by‑ball coverage.
