India’s rising stars in women’s hockey are gearing up for an exciting tour of China. The India A Women Hockey Team will face off against Liaoning in a five-match series from October 13 to 21, 2025. This trip offers young Indian players a prime chance to build international experience and sharpen their skills on the global stage.
The matches kick off at the Liaoning Sports Centre in Dalian, with games scheduled for October 13, 15, 17, 19, and 21. Hockey India sees this as a vital step in developing the next generation of women’s hockey talent. It helps emerging athletes tackle tough challenges abroad, boosting their readiness for bigger tournaments ahead.
Hockey India continues to pour resources into the sport’s future, aiming to create a deep bench of players for major events. The 19-member squad mixes seasoned pros with fresh faces who have shone at the national level. Defender Manisha Chauhan captains the team, bringing her strong leadership and smart play to guide the group.
Dave Smolenaars, the Indian Women’s Hockey Team’s analytical coach, leads the squad on this tour. His expertise in tactics and player growth will help shape these young athletes.
Smolenaars shared his excitement: "We’ve put together a strong, young squad full of potential. This series in China gives them a great stage to show what they can do, learn in a fresh setting, and gain key international exposure. I’m sure their drive and teamwork will shine through.
