India sealed a hard‑fought win in a high‑scoring encounter, even as opponents Tom Campbell and Michael Hope each turned the game with century knock‑outs. The match, played in cool conditions, ended with India riding a modest lead into the final innings, then cruising past the target in just 48 balls.

India started off with a disciplined first‑innings effort, posting 252 runs. Their top scorer, Virat Kohli, contributed 87 off 95, while Jasprit Bhardwaj added a quick 43 to set the tone for the chase. The opposition’s bowlers were caught and ousted early, but the low‑scoring pitch helped keep India in comfortable control.

In reply, Campbell and Hope supplied the opposition with memorable batting performances. Campbell’s blistering 112* spanned 100 balls, featuring eight sixes, while Hope’s 103 off 107 created a shock run‑rate. Their partnership of 164 turned the game into a thriller, but during the final session India’s bowlers regained the upper hand. Jasprit Bhardwaj took two wickets to halt the run flow, and Prithvi Raut’s left‑arm spin stumped the crowd as they trailed by 32 runs with just 12 overs left.

India’s bowlers rattled the opposition into a 22‑run margin by the end of Day 2, giving the hosts a slender cushion on which to build. They managed to enforce the follow‑on, a bold but effective strategy, and the second‑innings surge began. India’s top order collapsed early, but a lower‑order rescued 37* from Rohit Sharma, who led India home with a calm 78 off 85 and a well‑timed 42 off the final 12 overs.

The win marks India’s seventh victory in the last ten matches. Analysts praised the captain’s decision to enforce the follow‑on and noted that the team’s disciplined fielding, especially the catch taken by Hardik Pandya, was pivotal.

For Campbell and Hope, despite their centuries, the day ended with a respect for India’s comprehensive fielding and disciplined batting. They both acknowledged the challenge that Indian bowlers posed, and the match cements the importance of adaptability in modern cricket. India’s triumph underscores the team’s resilience, setting a positive tone for the remaining fixtures in the series.
