India handed Australia a 209-run defeat in Women’s T20 World Cup — Cricket for the Blind; Nepal beat Sri Lanka

In the third match of the inaugural Women’s T20 World Cup for the Blind, India kept the momentum going with a dominant win over Australia. The game, played in New Delhi, finished with India taking a 209‑run victory and moving further into the tournament.
India’s powerful innings
India flew to a massive target of 292 runs in 20 overs. Captain Deepika TC B3 led the charge, smashing 91 runs off just 58 balls. Phula Saren B3 added a quick 54 not out from 22 balls, while Anekha Devi, Anu Kumari, and Kavya V brought steady support. Extras and a penalty run gave India an extra cushion, making the score almost unbeatable.
Australia’s struggle
Australia chased the 293 required runs but collapsed to 57 in 19.3 overs. Despite a valiant 40‑run knock from Chanakan Buakhao, Australia couldn’t match India’s disciplined bowling and fielding. Seven run‑outs and stout Aussie bowlers sealed the day.
Deepika TC B3 earned Player of the Match honors for her all‑round performance and leadership.
Earlier in the day – Nepal’s comfortable win
The opening match featured Nepal, a veteran side in blind women’s cricket, against Sri Lanka Women, who made their World Cup debut. Sri Lanka posted 87 / 8, but Nepal’s bowlers were clinical. Kanti Yogi scooped 3 wickets for 21 runs, and Binita Pun added another wicket.
In a quick chase, Nepal captured the win in just 5.2 overs. Mankeshi Chaudhary hit an unbeaten 61 off 22 balls, smashing 11 boundaries, and supported by Susma Tamang, Nepal finished with a nine‑wicket victory. Chaudhary took the Player of the Match award for her explosive batting.
The matches continue to showcase talent and excitement in blind women’s cricket, building momentum for the rest of the tournament.
