From Tuesday, the Indian women’s squad will gather at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru for a training camp. The goal is to fine‑tune their skills and keep them match‑ready ahead of a five‑game T20I tour of Sri Lanka that begins on 21 December. This series follows India’s recent triumph at the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, which the team won in Navi Mumbai on 2 November.
In the two days before the camp, players will undergo their annual health checks. The squad will then face Sri Lanka at the ACA‑VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on 21 December and 23 December, before moving to the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram for the final three fixtures on 26, 28 and 30 December.
The tour is part of India’s preparation for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, scheduled in England from 12 June to 5 July. The highest finish the Indians have achieved in that format so far was a runner‑up spot at the 2020 World Cup in Australia.
Amita Sharma’s selection panel met on Monday to confirm the squad. Her appointment began on 28 September, and this will be the first team chosen under her leadership, adding a fresh angle for supporters.
India’s most recent T20I series was against England in July, where they clinched a 3‑2 victory; left‑arm spinner N Sree Charani, who took ten wickets, earned Player of the Series honors.
After the Sri Lanka tour, the players will return to their WPL franchises for season four, running from 9 January to 5 February 2026 in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara. Following that, the team is set to travel to Australia for a multi‑format tour scheduled from 15 February to 6 March.
