Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna took a nasty hit during the India A vs. Australia A cricket match in Lucknow on Wednesday. A bouncer from Australia’s Henry Thornton struck him on the head in the 39th over as Krishna tried to pull a short ball.
Krishna passed the initial concussion test and kept batting, but he soon felt uneasy and walked off the field. Yash Thakur stepped in as his concussion substitute for the rest of the innings, according to reports from ESPNcricinfo.
Things got tricky after the 42nd over. Krishna headed back to the dressing room, and Mohammed Siraj came out to bat next. Siraj fell later, bringing Gurnoor Brar to the crease at No. 11. When B Sai Sudharsan got out after that, Thakur returned as the final batter, officially replacing Krishna in the lineup.

KL Rahul’s quick exit for just 11 runs—caught behind off Will Sutherland in the eighth over—put India A on the back foot right away. But Narayan Jagadeesan (38) and Sai Sudharsan (75) fought back with a vital 100-plus run stand to rebuild the innings.
Still, India A’s middle order crumbled, with most batters scoring in single digits. Ayush Badoni managed 21, and Krishna chipped in 16 before his injury. The hosts collapsed to 194 all out in 52.5 overs.
India A hit back before stumps, grabbing three quick wickets. Siraj, Brar, and Manav Suthar each claimed one, leaving Australia A at 16/3 and trailing by a massive 210 runs.
