The Indian women’s cricket team is set to make a powerful statement in their third and final ODI against Australia Women. They’ll sport special pink jerseys to spotlight breast cancer awareness during this crucial series decider. With the series locked at 1-1, fans are buzzing for what’s sure to be an intense clash.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) kicked things off with a touching video on social media. In it, players like Pratika Rawal, Sneh Rana, and captain Harmanpreet Kaur rock the pink kits, each printed with “thanks a dot.” The BCCI captioned it: “Thanks A Lot #TeamIndia will be wearing special pink-coloured jerseys in the Third ODI today to promote Breast Cancer Awareness.”
Rawal, the opener, shared her take: “The pink jersey reminds us of a bigger fight, and the strength to battle breast cancer starts with early detection.” Rana added, “This isn’t just a symbol—it’s a nudge to build life-saving habits.” Kaur wrapped it up by saying, “We train daily for the unexpected, so let this pink jersey remind you to stay ready. Make breast self-exams a monthly routine.”
The trio closed strong together: “Let’s unite against breast cancer, embrace life, pick up that vital skill, and take a stand.”
Cricket fans won’t want to miss the action. India and Australia square off Saturday at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Australia dominated the opener, but India bounced back in style during the second ODI, handing the visitors their worst-ever defeat in women’s ODI history. Chasing 292, Alyssa Healy’s team crumbled 102 runs short after India set a strong 281 in the first match. Healy even admitted her side got outplayed by the Women in Blue.
This breast cancer awareness push adds extra heart to an already thrilling India vs Australia women’s cricket series.
