The Indian men’s futsal team is gearing up for some exciting action as they take on Lebanon in two friendly matches in Beirut today and on September 15. These games are key preparations for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers, kicking off later this month, according to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) website.
Under the guidance of Iranian head coach Reza Kordi, the Futsal Tigers wrapped up a intense 20-day training camp in Bengaluru right after the AIFF Futsal Club Championship last month. Ranked 135th in the world, the Indian squad touched down in Beirut on Friday. They’ll face the higher-ranked hosts (54th in the world) for the first friendly on Saturday at the Al Sadaka Sporting Complex.
Once these friendlies wrap up, India heads straight to Kuwait for the big qualifiers. In Group A, they’ll battle Kuwait on September 20, Australia on September 22, and Mongolia on September 24. The group winners and the top seven runners-up from all eight groups will earn spots in the final tournament in Indonesia next year. This marks the Futsal Tigers’ second shot at qualifying for the Asian Cup, following their 2024 attempt.
Here’s the full India squad for the Lebanon friendlies:
Goalkeepers: Aleef Rahman Mollah, Ozen Vivian Silva, Vishal Dube.
