In New Delhi on October 19, former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh praised Jack Faint for turning a life‑threatening cancer diagnosis into a powerful movement of courage. Faint ran more than 4,000 km from Leh in the Himalayas to Kanyakumari at India’s southern tip—an epic trek that began after doctors told him he had only a few months to live.
Yuvraj took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate Faint’s “indomitable spirit.” He wrote that when life set a finish line, Faint chose to run beyond it, showing that a terminal diagnosis can become a source of hope for others. Yuvraj said the run inspires people everywhere to realize that strength knows no limits and that nothing is impossible if you keep going.
The former all‑rounder is not just a fan of Faint’s journey. His non‑profit, YouWeCan, founded in 2012 with his mother Shabnam, supports Faint’s efforts. “YouWeCan is proud to stand beside Jack as he runs to raise awareness, hope, and belief for everyone fighting their own battles,” Yuvraj added.
Yuvraj’s own cancer story began in 2011, when a diagnosis shocked the cricket world and came just after India’s World Cup win. He battled the disease, completed treatment in the United States, and returned to the field for India. The experience turned into a bigger mission. YouWeCan started by promoting cancer awareness and early detection. Today, it also offers financial aid for treatment, especially to under‑privileged patients, and runs survivor‑focused programs such as scholarships that help young cancer survivors continue their education.
The foundation partners with hospitals and schools across India to build a support network for patients and families. Its goal remains clear: to make cancer a fight that can be won, not a death sentence.
