Flag hoisting ceremony: Construction agencies asked to vacate Ram Temple premises in Ayodhya by Nov 15

New Delhi, Nov 13 – The city is bustling as Ayodhya’s construction teams prepare for the big flag‑hoisting on Nov 25. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lift a saffron flag—known locally as the dhwaj—atop the spire of the new Lord Ram Temple. The event is the final chapter of a decades‑long project that will turn the historic site into a major pilgrimage hub.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust told all contractors to clear the site by Nov 15, giving the organizers time to add decorations. This year’s ceremony is set to be richer than ever: every piece of stone on the main temple will be surrounded by subsidiary shrines for Lord Mahadev, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, Suryadev, Maa Bhagwati, Maa Annapurna and Sheshavatar. The temples will glow in saffron, white and gold.

The flag‑hoisting will be a team effort. 108 Acharyas from Ayodhya, Kashi and the South will perform rituals, led by scholar Ganeshwar Shastri. The saffron flag’s design carries a bright sun symbol, a sign of energy, divinity and Renunciation that fits the Ram Temple’s vision. “The flag stands for victory, virtue and enlightenment,” Shastri said.

Chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, Nripendra Mishra, told reporters Monday that the committee is keeping its sights on the Prime Minister’s itinerary. “We want to make sure every detail is ready for the President’s visit so he can tour the temple, see the building work and give his final approval,” Mishra said. He noted that the main structure and six shrines are already finished. “Now we’re beautifying the premises—planting trees, finishing interiors, and polishing the stonework.”

The technical side of the flag‑hoisting is being handled by experts from the Defence Ministry. Mishra added, “The flag will be hoisted on the uppermost spire. We have set up the necessary equipment and conducted tests to avoid any hiccups on the day of the ceremony.” This meticulous planning aims to give the fall festival a flawless finish.

The Nov 25 event is expected to attract thousands of dignitaries, saints, and pilgrims from across India and abroad. The flag‑hoisting is more than a symbol—it marks Ayodhya’s emergence as a spiritual and cultural center, drawing people of faith to celebrate together. With the final touch of the saffron flag on the temple’s spire, the city is poised to host one of the most watched religious moments of the year.
