Jaipur: The PGTI Ranking leader Yuvraj Sandhu posted a solid third‑round 66 (four shots under par) that let him build a three‑shot cushion, finishing the Jaipur Open 2025 – an INR 1 crore event at the Rambagh Golf Club – with a total of 194 strokes, 16 under par.
Sandhu, whose round consisted of 65-63-66, had been one stroke back at the start of the third day. His birdie‑filled 66, which included an eagle, four birdies, and two bogeys, pushed him into the lead. The Chandigarh native, coming to Jaipur after a four‑year break, is now chasing his sixth PGTI title for the season. A sixth victory would tie Manu Gandas’s 2022 record for most PGTI titles in a single season.
Kushal Singh (64‑63‑70), who had led by one shot halfway through, struggled a bit, recording a 70 that featured four birdies and two double‑bogeys, dropping him to second with 13‑under 197. Badal Hossain from Bangladesh (65‑67‑66) shot a flawless 66 to climb four places and finish the day in third at 12‑under 198.
Yuvraj began the day with a bogey on the first but recovered quickly, making birdies on the third and 12th holes, tapping in on both, and even chip‑in for an eagle on the eighth. A missed up‑and‑down yielded a second bogey on the 15th, yet he steadied the walkby sinking birdies on the final two par‑fives – the 17th and 18th.
“I didn’t convert as many putts as I would’ve liked to, but my hitting was top‑notch today. The bogey on the first was a good wake‑up call for me, and I was in my zone by the time I reached the third tee. Thereafter, I finally played the way I’ve wanted to all week,” Yuvraj said at the end of the day.
Sandhu, who first competed on the PGTI at Rambagh Golf Club back in 2018 as an amateur, added, “With my current hitting form, I think I can match my best of 10‑under at this course, a score I achieved back in 2021 when I last played here. I’ve improved my ball control, and that’s reflected in my scores. This is thanks to all the work I’ve put in with my coach Gurbaaz Mann.”
Jaipur‑based professionals Hemendra Choudhary (three‑under 207) and Prakhar Asawa (even‑par 212) finished tied 28th and tied 42nd, respectively.
