In Hyderabad, a man named Roshan Singh, 26, died after being stabbed near the Jagadgirigutta bus stand. The attack happened Wednesday evening. Baleshwar Reddy, 23, and two friends pushed Roshan into a chair and repeatedly stabbed him in the stomach. The crowd watched in shock but did not intervene. Roshan managed to break free, but he was badly wounded and was taken to Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad, where he died the next morning.
The incident was captured on CCTV cameras that filmed the whole assault. Police were alerted by local residents and rushed to the scene. They screened the injured, moved Roshan to the hospital, and then detained Reddy and his two accomplices in a nearby motorbike. Reddy was later taken into custody. Police said Roshan had several criminal cases, including an open murder case, and that the stabbing came after a money dispute within the local street gang.
This death is the second stabbing in Hyderabad in just two days. On Tuesday, a 45‑year‑old painter named Murali Krishna, who lived in Uppal’s Kalyanpuri, was murdered near Nacharam. According to police, Krishna’s day ended after a dispute over a spilled chutney. He was picked up by three men and a teenager in a car and taken to a mobile food stall near the National Geophysical Research Institute. An accidental spill of chutney on a man’s clothing sparked a heated argument, which quickly turned violent. The men berated and beat Krishna for about two hours. Then they drove to a remote spot in the Nacharam industrial area and stabbed him multiple times, causing his death. The attackers fled, but CCTV footage from several cameras helped police identify and arrest the four accused: Mohammed Junaid (18), Shaik Saifuddin (18), P. Manikanta (21), and a 16‑year‑old minor.
Police are now investigating both cases and have stepped up patrols in the Jagadgirigutta and Nacharam areas. They urge residents to report any suspicious activity and say they are determined to reduce street violence in Hyderabad.
