India’s junior women’s hockey squad has been named for the 2025 FIH Women’s Junior Hockey World Cup in Santiago, Chile, where the teams will compete from December 7 to 13. Hockey India announced a 20‑player lineup, including 18 active players and two alternates, ready to show their hard‑worked skills on the world stage.
The squad is led by captain Jyoti Singh and coached by Tushar Khandker. Goalkeepers Nidhi and Engil Harsha Rani Minz will share the net, while defenders Manisha, Lalthanlualangi, Sakshi Shukla, Puja Sahoo and Nandini form the backline. Midfielders Sakshi Rana, Ishika, Sunelita Toppo, Khaidem Shileima Chanu and Binima Dhan will drive the game forward. The striking forward group features Sonam, Purnima Yadav, Kanika Siwach, Hina Bano and Sukhveer Kaur. Priyanka Yadav and Parwati Topno are named alternates.
India is drawn into Pool C with Germany, Ireland and Namibia. The team will start its campaign on December 1 against Namibia, then face Germany on December 3 and Ireland on December 5. The top team from each pool will advance to the knockout stage, played from December 7 to 13.
Coach Khandker said, “I’m pleased with how the squad is shaping up. Discipline is our foundation, and we’ve focused on building a strong defence and finishing in the opponent’s area. The girls have matured a lot in recent months.” He added, “We’re excited to travel to Chile. The players are ready to give their best and make a mark at the World Cup.”
With intensive training behind them, India will aim to prove why its junior players are rising stars in women’s hockey worldwide.
