
Hyderabad hosted an exciting finish to the Yuva Telangana Championship 2025, a key tournament that serves as a stepping stone to the Telugu Kabaddi League. The event took place at the LB Indoor Stadium on Wednesday, ending with Jogulamba Lions beating Bhadradi Braves 35-21 in the thrilling final to become champions.
Before the big final, the last matches of the Super 4 stage showcased some impressive kabaddi action. In one match, Yadadri Yoddhas showcased their strength with a dominant 66-45 win over Basara Vidyuts. Even though Yadadri Yoddhas didn’t make it to the final, they finished their campaign strongly, impressing everyone with their all-round game. On the other hand, Vidyuts faced defeat again, ending their run in the tournament.
The other Super 4 match was a close contest that served as a warm-up for the final. Bhadradi Braves narrowly edged out Jogulamba Lions 45-44 thanks to a late All Out, making the championship final more exciting.
In the final match, Jogulamba Lions turned the tables and claimed the trophy. Led by star raider G. Raju, who scored 12 raid points, and defender Aakula Naveen, who made crucial eight tackle points, the Lions played a confident and balanced game. The Braves couldn’t repeat their earlier performance and struggled throughout the final, allowing the Lions to win comfortably with a 35-21 score.
This tournament highlighted the importance of the Yuva Championships as a platform for young kabaddi players. The top performers here will now have the chance to compete in the Telugu Kabaddi League, giving aspiring players a clear pathway from grassroots to professional kabaddi.
Some of the standout players of the Yuva Telangana Championship 2025 include top raider G. Raju with 115 points and defender Aakula Naveen, who scored 21 tackle points. Other top performers include Kethavath Hanumanthu and Thelgu Shivakrishna. These talented athletes are now looking forward to next steps in their kabaddi careers.
